Responsibilities
Craft compelling stories: Write, shoot, and edit engaging news stories for TV, web, and all digital platforms, ensuring the community is always informed and connected.
Be the first on the scene: Report live and react instantly to breaking news, severe weather, or major community events, delivering real‑time updates across every screen.
Unearth vital narratives: Research, pitch, and develop impactful news stories that resonate deeply with the local audience and shed light on important issues.
Own the moment: Navigate fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments and make sound, split‑second decisions during live broadcasts, maintaining composure and confidence under pressure.
Step up to the anchor desk: Seize opportunities to fill in as an anchor, showcasing versatility and leadership in front of the camera.
Qualifications
A degree in Communications/Journalism or equivalent real‑world experience.
Insatiable curiosity for current events that matter to the local community.
Digital fluency: Comfortable using social media as a newsgathering, storytelling, and audience‑engagement tool.
Team player who can also work independently, especially when deadlines are tight.
Physical readiness to lift and carry essential equipment such as tripod, camera, and lights.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for covering stories across the community.
Unshakeable news judgment: Ability to identify stories, tell them responsibly, and explain why they matter to viewers.
Urgency with empathy: Driven to get the story first, but always with respect, understanding, and a commitment to accuracy.
