The Customer Marketing Data Specialist is responsible for the execution and operational support of customer marketing data processes, with a primary focus on direct mail circulation and audience delivery. This role ensures the accurate and timely preparation of customer data, audience selections, suppression logic, and vendor-ready files to meet campaign timelines across direct mail, outbound telemarketing, and other customer marketing channels.
In addition to direct mail circulation and project execution, this role supports broader customer marketing data needs including segmentation, list management, testing, measurement, and data quality validation. The Specialist works cross-functionally with internal partners (CRM, Analytics, Customer Service, Finance, and Data teams) and external vendors to coordinate campaign logistics, ensure compliance with customer contact preferences, and improve marketing performance through clean and reliable customer data.
Primary Responsibilities Direct Mail & Telemarketing Execution
Execute direct mail and outbound telemarketing audience workflows, including name selection, suppressions, and final output files to meet campaign mailing schedules
Prepare, standardize, and transfer customer name/address data to and from internal databases and external vendor systems
Create and maintain mailing documentation, audience specifications, and execution instructions for internal and external partners
Validate vendor mailing simulations, proofs, and inkjet specifications prior to production
Maintain circulation records, mailing history, campaign costs, and other operational data elements
Customer Marketing Data Support
Support customer marketing audience needs across channels by providing segmentation extracts, suppression logic, and testing cohorts when required
Execute ad hoc customer data queries and analyses to support targeting, performance measurement, and operational troubleshooting
Partner with Customer Service and internal stakeholders to resolve customer issues related to mailings, contact preferences, and opt-out compliance
Support data quality initiatives including address hygiene, duplicate resolution, suppression compliance, and file validation
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve documentation, reduce errors, and increase campaign execution speed and accuracy
