ROLE OVERVIEW The MarTech Strategy & Activation Lead is responsible for defining the data strategy, setting up the personalization architecture, and executing high‑impact personalized experiences on the new web platform backed by the Adobe Experience Cloud and Edge Delivery Services. This role requires a strong blend of marketing strategy, technical platform knowledge (specifically AEM Cloud), and a deep understanding of how to leverage customer data and AI to drive conversion and customer lifetime value.

You will serve as the primary expert in activation and personalization, ensuring the new web platform and associated Adobe tools are leveraged to their full potential to deliver smarter, faster, and more effective customer journeys.

Note: We’re flexible on employment structure for this role and open to contract or contract‑to‑hire arrangements for the right fit.

WHAT YOU’LL DO Own Activation Strategy Translate business goals into data‑driven marketing activation plans Design lifecycle and personalization strategies across web, email, and digital touchpoints Partner with clients to define audience architecture and campaign roadmaps Lead working sessions with marketing, product, and technology stakeholders

Architect & Activate Within Adobe Ecosystems Work across platforms including:

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) Adobe Target Adobe Experience Manager Assets (Adobe DAM) Customer Journey Analytics

You do not need to be a deep engineer in all of these systems — but you must: Understand how they integrate Know how data models are structured Guide personalization and experimentation design Ensure content governance through DAM best practices Tie campaign performance back to measurable outcomes

Design Data‑Driven Marketing Infrastructure Define and own the core data foundation strategy within the new AEM platform, ensuring the data layer is robust, structured, and capable of driving advanced personalization. Oversee the integration and activation of the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) to unify customer profiles and enable end‑to‑end journey mapping. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to establish activation workflows and ensure new AEM components and front‑end architecture support granular data capture necessary for targeting and segmentation. Develop experimentation frameworks using Adobe Target based on client business needs and customer segments Design and interpret A/B and multivariate tests across the inbound site experience with a focus on conversion Translate insights into ongoing optimization strategies leveraging the latest in AI and new cloud product features

Measure What Matters Use Customer Journey Analytics to evaluate campaign performance Connect activation data to business KPIs Present insights clearly to executive stakeholders Continuously optimize activation programs

Team Management and Collaboration Directly oversee a small team of MarTech experts who run and operate the Adobe Cloud platform powering the new personalized web experiences Work collaboratively with the lead MarTech Architect, Product Management, Design, Engineering and Marketing Creative teams

WHAT YOU BRING PLATFORM EXPERTISE & DATA FLUENCY 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, growth, or optimization, with at least 2+ years focused on the Adobe Experience Cloud ecosystem. Working knowledge of the full AEM Cloud platform, including its integrations with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Adobe Target, and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA). Strong fluency in customer data strategy, data modeling, and how to translate raw data into marketing activation strategies. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts as applied to marketing personalization, audience creation, and campaign optimization. Proven experience in setting up and analyzing A/B and multivariate tests using enterprise tools like Adobe Target.

EXPERIENCE & MINDSET Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to be a data‑fluent marketer who can influence strategy using empirical evidence. Proven ability to align diverse technical (Engineering) and business (Product, Content) stakeholders on a unified growth vision. Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning the latest features of the Adobe Experience Cloud and digital experience trends.
