We’re hiring an Account Manager, Growth Accounts to join our dynamic Growth Team. This role manages a portfolio of approximately 135 medium-to-large organizations across industries, including tech, insurance, education, and public interest. The Growth Account Manager is responsible for retention, cross-sell, and upsell across their book of business. This role requires strong prioritization skills and the ability to move fluidly between efficient transactional work and consultative selling with high-value or at-risk accounts. This role is critical to POLITICO’s growth engine and helps ensure our clients stay informed, empowered, and engaged—and they play a pivotal role in helping our business scale impact.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of ~135 accounts across a range of industries

Drive renewals and account growth through proactive outreach, consultative conversations, and cross-sell opportunities

Balance transactional efficiency with deeper engagement where risk or opportunity warrants

Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders—primarily in government affairs, public policy, or public affairs functions

Identify opportunities to expand usage across departments or introduce new products (e.g., E&E News, Agency IQ)

Collaborate closely with Customer Success, Sales Enablement, Product, and Marketing to deliver an excellent customer experience

Maintain detailed client notes and pipeline updates in Salesforce

Meet and exceed individual renewal and growth goals

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in a quota-carrying role

A proven track record growing accounts through renewals, upsell and cross-sell

Experience successfully working cross-functionally with a Customer Success team to deliver client outcomes

High business and sales acumen

Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM tools
