Job Description:
Material Designer for Footwear on the Training Footwear & Apparel Expression Design team.
The ETW will be involved in the material design process and work with designers on season briefs.
They will be highly cross functional between the Colors and Graphics teams.
MUST INCLUDE a Portfolio - see design process, big projects they’re excited about.
Must Haves:
3+ YOE with Materials Design - open to all materials experience.
Adobe illustrator Expert.
Experience researching and digging through materials library, researching available materials.
Purpose:
Deliver materials vision & execute seasonal projects, aligned to creative direction & project briefs.
Nice to Haves:
Interest in Footwear, fashion, or performance wear.
Background from similar industries.
Create original product designs or refresh existing products with supervision from Design leadership.
Understand the fundamentals of the design creative process, including exploration, receiving critical feedback and driving design changes.
Understand the creative process (design process, material briefs, tech pack build creation and hand off precision, development and factory communication and redlining).
Participate in the communication and presentation of design concepts to internal and external audiences.
Collaborate and build interpersonal connections with Design and adjacent functions.

Education:
Associate Degree preferred.
Experience:
Preferred design experience: 1-4 years.
Understanding of creative culture.
Skills:
Digital design acumen (design-based software needed: Adobe Creative Suite).
Preferred knowledge and experience with advanced digital tools/3D skills.
Understand creative process.
Understanding of make and the impacts of material choice.
