Job Summary The Events and Catering Director at 612North is a dynamic, sales-driven leader responsible for generating new corporate and social event business while overseeing the seamless execution of all events from inquiry to post-event follow-up. This role leads client outreach, manages a team handling event sales and coordination, reviews proposals to meet guest budgets and expectations, and maintains strong relationships with hosts before, during, and after events. The position requires hands‑on leadership in event setup and breakdown, operational oversight of office and storage organization, and close collaboration with culinary, marketing, and brand teams across Drunken Fish, Kimchi Guys, and 612North. The Events and Catering Director runs weekly planning and BEO meetings, coordinates marketing initiatives and online venue profiles, and ensures all logistics—including staffing, ordering, and outdoor event coordination—are executed at a high level. Ideal candidates bring strong event management and leadership experience, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and a passion for hospitality, team development, and delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Responsibilities

Lead outreach to new clients for corporate events to show and sell the space

Meetings, seminars, cocktail parties, holiday parties, etc.

May require some travel

Manage team handling all event inquiries and selling the venue to parties

Wedding receptions, birthday parties, anniversary parties, etc.

Maintain client relationships and interact with hosts when attending events

Return emails and phone calls in a timely manner

Strong leadership skills and can collaborate with other teams

Review all proposals created by 612North team for guests to fit their needs or budget

Follow up with all guests

Run weekly 612North meetings

Handle any other needs that may arise

Manage all cleaning and organizing the Corporate Office, storage areas, liquor rooms, equipment areas and kitchens

Organize and possess high level of administration ability to effectively manage incoming and outgoing orders and documentation

Lead execution of setup and break down for events

Collaborate with Drunken Fish, Kimchi Guys and/or 612North teams for marketing of special events and holidays in the event spaces

Organize our online advertising profiles for 612North on The Knot, WeddingWire, and other websites

Coordinate marketing for events, such as wedding shows, trade shows, and charity events

Communicate with Culinary Team leading up to all booked events

Ability to work with multiple managers and stay organized

Coordinate all needs for Outdoor Events and execute or delegate tasks

Applications, ordering, schedule staff, etc.

Skills and Abilities

Event planning and/or catering experience is required

Management experience is required

Must possess excellent customer service skills

Excellent communication skills

Sales-driven mentality with proven track record

Proficient in Microsoft Programs

Excellent problem solving skills

Good organizational skills and time management

Detail-oriented and ability to multitask

Work as an integral part of the Drunken Fish/Kimchi Guys/612North team and culture

Create and continuously reinforce a positive and safe work environment

Act as role model for company standards and uphold all policies and procedures within the company

Preferred Qualifications

21+ years old

Education: High School or equivalent

High Energy and Passion for the industry

5 + years prior professional experience in event management, venue management, event operation/sales

Approved state alcohol training required

Good people management skills, communication and listening skills.

Demonstrate time management and organizational skills

Must be internally motivated and detail oriented and have a passion for teaching others

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
