
Position Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving machine sales revenue, margins, profit and growth. Additional responsibilities include account development, management, and maintaining strong internal and external customer relations.
Pay Range $190,000.00 - $200,000.00
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of stand‑alone machine tools and automated solutions.
Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and develop direct reports on sales, technical/growth, and desired behaviors.
Maintain a strong teamwork relationship with all direct reports, internal customers, and division service teams.
Develop and maintain strong customer relations with current customers and build relationships with prospects.
Meet/exceed division profit margin and sales revenue goals.
Maintain business expenses within budget for the department.
Host customer visits and perform standard product demonstrations.
Provide sales forecasts, highlights, and related reports as required to the corporate office.
Create an annual business plan for strategic planning.
Assist/support in other job functions within department, division, and/or company as needed, and assume accountability for assigned projects and programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or equivalent formal training and work experience.
Minimum of 5 years successful Sales Engineer experience in the machine tool or related industry.
Experience with stand‑alone machine tools and automated solutions, demonstrating a strong mechanical/technical aptitude.
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
Superior interpersonal communication skills and customer‑relationship building.
Demonstrated experience in project management and time management.
Proficiency in basic computer skills and ability to learn and apply new software and programs as supported by the company.
Strong teamwork skills.
Strong leadership skills with emphasis on team building and performance management.
Initiative, competitive nature, and strong goal orientation; excellent attention to detail required.
Ability to travel with a current and valid U.S. passport.
Ability to maintain a driver’s license with a good driving record.
