Position: Director of Children's Ministry
Mountain Park UMC is seeking a creative and innovative leader to serve as Director of Children's Ministry, a role that is part of our Family Ministries Team. We are seeking a team player who can grow with a thriving, diverse community of believers. This person will enter sacred places of wonder with our children and their families.
This position is best suited for individuals with a passion for working with children, an understanding of Wesleyan/United Methodist theology and mission, and an openness to learn and grow into the position.
Mountain Park UMC is also seeking a Director of Youth Ministry at this time.
Responsibilities The Director of Children's Ministry will create space for children and their families to experience their faith fully through children's worship experiences and intergenerational relationship building. They will empower volunteers to embody their gifts through the ministries of the Church and come with wonder and a willingness to explore the depths of faith and discipleship with the children and families of Mountain Park UMC. The Director will also supervise any staff or contractors involved in ministries for children (birth through Fifth Grade).
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Required
Two (2) – Three (3) years of experience in Children's and Family Ministry Preferred
We are interested in applicants that might be Candidates for Ministry in the UMC
Physical Demands Employee must occasionally lift or move office supplies or other items up to 30 pounds.
Expected Hours of Work Part‑time, 25 hours per week. Employee must be able to work on Sunday mornings and other designated times during the week.
Start Date The anticipated start date for this position is mid‑May 2026.
