Position Summary The Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership to support Florida Heart and Vascular’s continued growth and performance. This role directly supervises the Ft. Lauderdale South and West Plantation offices and supervises the Practice Manager for the Ft. Lauderdale North and Margate offices. The Director ensures operational excellence, standardized processes, and alignment with the CEO’s strategic vision.

This leader is accountable for driving efficiency, optimizing revenue, improving patient access, strengthening team performance, and expanding service lines across all locations.

Office teams at Ft. Lauderdale South and West Plantation

Practice Manager (Ft. Lauderdale North and Margate)

Core Responsibilities Operational Leadership

Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient, patient-centered practice performance

Standardize workflows across all locations

Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, standards, and procedures

Streamline clinical and administrative workflows

Optimize provider schedules and clinic utilization

Coordinate physician call schedules and PTO schedules

Approve staff PTO and manage attendance compliance

Monitor and manage operational expenses

Strategic Growth and Development

Support Florida Heart and Vascular’s growth initiatives

Assist in developing and executing strategies that drive organizational expansion

Identify and design new service line opportunities

Evaluate profitability of current and proposed services

Recruit and train new associates

Expand Transitional Care Management (TCM) visits

Improve utilization of the phone system, including evaluation of AI tools

Promote the practice through marketing initiatives and community outreach

Financial Oversight and Revenue Optimization

Work with leadership to analyze financial performance by location and service line

Work with leadership to maximize practice revenue and partner compensation

Work with leadership to monitor KPIs including clinic utilization, wRVUs, scheduling efficiency, and visit mix

Technology and Systems Optimization

Stay current on AthenaOne updates and functionality

Share time‑saving tips and workflow enhancements with staff

Improve system utilization and template optimization

Ensure appropriate access controls and compliance

Workforce Development and Training

Develop and Implement Training Programs

Create structured new hire training programs

Develop SOPs for PCCs, Surgical Schedulers, and MA/Scribes

Establish competency checklists and shadowing processes

Conduct 1‑week, 30/60/90‑day check‑ins

Goals and Performance Expectations

Maximize clinic utilization at all locations

Optimize scheduling processes

Increase TCM visits

Improve revenue cycle performance

Strengthen billing accuracy

Enhance physician productivity

Recruit and successfully onboard high‑performing staff

Improve team morale and operational culture

Support measurable EBITDA growth

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required

5+ years of healthcare practice management or multi‑site operational leadership

Strong financial acumen with experience analyzing service line profitability

Experience with AthenaOne or comparable EHR systems

Proven ability to develop SOPs and scale operations

Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills

Demonstrated ability to drive measurable operational and financial improvements
