Overview Our client is a prestigious thriving local law firm that is headquartered in downtown San Francisco. Employees choose our client because of their culture, leadership, market position and low turnover. They are seeking an experienced Client Account Specialist for their San Francisco office.

The position has a flexible 3 in office and 2 remote hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

Supports billing, collections, and client trust account management by resolving invoice issues, updating systems, and ensuring compliance with State Bar guidelines.

Handles reporting, assists with special projects, and provides guidance on billing and timekeeping systems.

Prepares, edits, and distributes client invoices in compliance with billing guidelines; resolves billing discrepancies and handles e-billing submissions.

Applies and reconciles client payments across various platforms, coordinates with AR staff, and manages deposits and refunds.

Maintains and manages trust account transactions, ensuring proper documentation, compliance with State Bar rules, and timely processing of overpayments or disbursements.

Tracks billing and payment activity across complex matters, maintains organized electronic records, and updates internal systems and spreadsheets.

Generates client-specific reports, tracks retainers, and supports audits, budget submissions, and risk-related financial alerts.

Assists with collections activities, cost recovery entries, and provides support across billing and AR functions during absences or special projects.

Qualifications

3+ years of billing or accounts receivable experience in a professional services or law firm environment.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), PDFs, and able to learn systems such as Aderant, ARCS, and Prebill Viewer.

Strong understanding of billing and AR concepts, with accurate typing and 10-key data entry skills.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented with proper grammar and formatting.

Proven ability to manage time, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Salary: Up to 100K, flexible depending on years of experience.
