
As the Centralized Purchasing Agent, you will develop a procurement strategy. You will
oversee the acquisition of raw materials (steel, hydraulics, components), shop supplies,
and outsourced services across all departments. Your goal is to ensure that our
production lines never stop, while maintaining the highest standards of cost-efficiency
and vendor reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy: Source and purchase raw materials, parts, and equipment necessary for the manufacturing of medium-duty truck bodies.
Vendor Management: Research, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
Inventory Control: Work with Inventory Manager to Monitor stock levels and utilize ERP/MRP systems to forecast demand, preventing overstock or critical shortages.
Cost Analysis: Perform regular price comparisons and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising Valew’s quality standards.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the production and QC teams to ensure all
Logistics Coordination: Track shipments and resolve any discrepancies in invoices, damaged goods, or delivery delays.
Process Improvement: Develop and implement centralized purchasing procedures to improve efficiency between the office and the shop floor.
Team Mindset: Work with other purchasing agents within the company to ensure a consistent product at every location. Work with production manager to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within a manufacturing, automotive, or heavy equipment environment.
Technical Savvy: Proficiency in ERP/inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate contracts and build long-term relationships with industrial suppliers.
Knowledge: Familiarity with steel grades, hydraulic components, and automotive hardware is a significant plus.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate
