Job Summary The Executive Director for the Office of Advising Administration is responsible for strategic vision, administrative oversight, and leadership for centralized on-campus academic advising at Old Dominion University. This position is responsible for aligning academic advising with the Old Dominion Strategic Plan, professional best practices, and the needs of the on-campus student population. The executive director ensures proper training, supervision, and evaluation for advising staff, and the implementation of quality academic advising for on-campus programs at Old Dominion University.
This position is required to complete a Statement of Personal Economic Interest upon hire in accordance with the Code of Virginia.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in higher education-related area.
Good interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact with a wide range of people on and off campus.
Demonstrated administrative and supervisory ability.
Strong editing and proofreading skills in order to coordinate various publications.
Good writing skills.
Strong organizational ability.
Considerable technical knowledge of web browsers.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and problem solve technical issues.
Considerable experience in higher education administration, preferably in Academic Affairs.
Considerable experience with advising, curriculum, and Catalog review and production.
Considerable supervisory experience.
Considerable prior administrative experience.
