Position Summary The Community Partnerships & Outreach Coordinator supports Rise Northwest Development Corporation's mission to strengthen families and revitalize neighborhoods throughout the Hope Zone in Northwest Dayton by listening deeply to community needs, elevating resident voice, organizing collective action, and driving community well-being.
This role serves as the "first face" for partnership inquiries, connecting residents, organizations, and institutions to shared goals within the cradle-to-career continuum, housing stability, economic mobility, and neighborhood revitalization. The coordinator manages the partner engagement program, oversees strategic outreach efforts, and balances direct community engagement and organizing with administrative responsibilities, including partnership documentation, data tracking, and evaluation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Partnership Development, Community Organizing & Relationship Management
Build and maintain authentic, trust-based relationships with residents, neighborhood associations, community organizations, and institutional partners.
Serve as the first point of contact for partnership inquiries, providing information and guidance to prospective partners.
Conduct in-depth assessments to identify community needs, assets, and opportunities for collective action.
Develop, manage, and track partnership agreements (MOUs) and commitments to ensure accountability, transparency, and alignment with resident-driven priorities.
Identify and cultivate new partnerships that empower residents and strengthen community-led initiatives, focusing on Rise NW's five target neighborhoods: College Hill, Daytonview Triangle, Fairview, Hillcrest, and Mt. Vernon.
Convene neighborhood meetings, housing roundtables, partner sessions, and grassroots organizing efforts to foster collaboration, shared decision-making, and community-led solutions.
Attend neighborhood association meetings and provide monthly reports capturing community assets, resident engagement, challenges, and partnership opportunities.
Community Outreach & Engagement
Develop and execute outreach strategies that align with Rise NW's mission and goals.
Identify target audiences, create messaging and outreach materials (brochures, flyers, newsletters), and plan events and activities to engage the community.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach campaigns and make data-informed adjustments as needed.
Prepare and present outreach and engagement reports to management.
Organize and facilitate informational sessions, workshops, and community events to drive resident participation and leadership.
Identify and engage potential donors, volunteers, and other key stakeholders to strengthen Rise NW's network.
Community Collaboration, Program Support & Resident Leadership
Align partnership and outreach activities with Rise NW's place-based strategy and holistic community development goals.
Support implementation of resident-driven projects and ensure partners reflect community priorities.
Facilitate resident leadership development by organizing forums, councils, and workshops that amplify community voice and drive collective action.
Collaborate with internal teams across education, workforce, housing, and health initiatives to connect programs, resources, and partners in ways that respond directly to community needs.
Coordinate initiatives leveraging partner strengths while embedding resident participation and feedback.
Facilitate the Purpose-Built Communities (PBC) initiative, emphasizing resident engagement, storytelling, advocacy, and participatory decision-making.
Data, Evaluation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of partner and resident contacts, activities, and outcomes.
Track partnership and outreach metrics to support grant reporting and evaluation.
Communicate partnership progress, lessons learned, and opportunities for continuous improvement to Rise NW leadership.
Design and manage project tracking tools (e.g., scorecards, Salesforce worksheets) to monitor outcomes and ensure accountability.
Administrative & Organizational Support
Contribute to strategic planning and annual goal setting for partnership and community outreach initiatives.
Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings, workshops, and events.
Participate in professional development to stay current on best practices in community engagement, outreach, organizing, and collective impact.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Community Development, or related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, organizing, or stakeholder relations.
Commitment to Rise NW's mission of resident-led revitalization, racial equity, and community transformation.
Ability to build and maintain trust with diverse community members and organizational partners.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience planning, coordinating, and evaluating outreach campaigns and community events.
Proficiency with social media, digital marketing tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling to elevate community voice.
Collaborative mindset and ability to navigate complex partnerships, shared accountability, and resident-led initiatives.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Knowledge of the community or target audience is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Hybrid environment: office and community-based settings such as schools, neighborhood centers, and partner agencies.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear; frequent use of hands and fingers for computer and office tasks.
Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds (event materials).
Local travel is required for meetings and community events.
Comfort engaging with diverse populations across socioeconomic, cultural, and professional backgrounds.
