
Mechanical Estimator

As a Mechanical Estimator at Airo Mechanical, you will play a pivotal role in our construction and project management processes. The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze project specifications, gather necessary data, and produce accurate cost estimates. You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that our estimates align with project goals and financial objectives.
What you'll do
Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to understand the scope of work.
Conduct on-site visits to gather information about project conditions and constraints.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, considering materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
Utilize cost databases, historical data, and industry benchmarks to enhance accuracy.
Develop comprehensive bid proposals outlining the scope of work, cost breakdown, and any necessary qualifications.
Collaborate with the bid team to ensure all aspects of the proposal align with project requirements.
Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
Identify and assess potential risks that may impact project costs.
Propose risk mitigation strategies to ensure the financial success of projects.
Work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to refine project requirements.
Communicate effectively to ensure all team members are aligned on cost estimates and project goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
2-5 years of experience in estimating, preferably within the mechanical, plumbing, HVAC or construction industry.
Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
