This position requires office presence of a minimum of five days per week and is only located in the posted location. No relocation is offered. Overall Purpose: Responsible for supporting federal income tax audits, including drafting responses to IRS information document requests, analysis and interpretation of existing and upcoming U.S. federal income tax legislation to identify opportunities to minimize the organization's legal tax liabilities and to account for those liabilities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Works collaboratively with others including business units outside of tax (e.g., legal, business operations, accounting, etc.) to develop and provide complete, accurate responses to the IRS promptly. Organizes and compiles information and responds to Information Document Requests, Notices of Proposed Adjustments, and other tax controversy matters. Evaluates tax issues throughout the tax controversy life cycle, including assistance with scenario planning. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Prepares tax research to advise management of the federal income tax and related accounting implications of IRS Audit activities. Coordinate, prepare, or review amended federal income tax returns required for identified claims not handled in regular audit activities. Coordinate preparation of tax-related journal entries, financial statement disclosures and account reconciliations in accordance with company policy and SOX controls for IRS audit settlements and uncertain tax benefits. Responsible for meeting all required deadlines. Job Contribution: The Tax Senior plays a critical role in navigating the complexities of income tax controversy, while helping to resolve tax disputes to minimize the company's tax liabilities. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional technical knowledge, analytical expertise, attention to detail, robust leadership capabilities, and will communicate effectively. Experience: Technical knowledge of federal laws and regulations. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership skills and self-management. Proficiency in tax software and other financial management tools such as Excel, Power BI, Corptax or Onesource, and Artificial Intelligence. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills. At least four years of experience in tax controversy, tax compliance, income tax planning for corporations and/or partnerships, or a related field. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and CPA Certification. Our Senior Tax Manager earns between $105,600 - $158,400 USD Annual.
