As a

Corporate Tax Manager , you will be a key member, working directly with senior leadership and clients to provide strategic tax compliance, ASC 740 tax provision, and business tax planning services. You will oversee multiple client engagements, lead teams, and ensure high‑quality, timely delivery of tax services for large, multi‑state, and multinational corporations.

This role offers exposure to diverse industries and the opportunity to collaborate with subject matter experts across the firm — empowering you with the tools, technology, and resources to advance your tax career with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead corporate tax engagements from start to finish — planning, execution, delivery, and client communication.

Manage and review corporate income tax compliance, ASC 740 provision preparation, and audit support.

Supervise, mentor, and train associates and senior associates on technical tax matters and engagement performance.

Review tax returns and make recommendations for accuracy and tax savings opportunities.

Conduct ASC 740 income tax provision reviews for quarterly and annual reporting.

Respond to inquiries from IRS, state, and other tax authorities.

Develop and maintain strong client relationships and ensure superior client service delivery.

Identify business development opportunities and collaborate with leadership on client growth strategies.

Maintain a high degree of professional ethics and confidentiality.

Participate in professional development, continuing education, and firm training initiatives.

Must-Have Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's in Tax or Accounting preferred).

Active CPA license (California) or JD/Active Law License required.

4‑7+ years of progressive corporate tax compliance and consulting experience.

Public accounting experience with a Top 15 firm or large regional firm.

Corporate compliance and ASC 740 tax provision experience (preparation, review, and audit).

Experience with large, multi‑state, national, or global corporate clients.

Strong proficiency in U.S. GAAP and corporate income tax laws and regulations.

Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills.

Must be willing to work hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite weekly).

Preferred Skills

Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP) software.

Exposure to state, local, and international tax compliance.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and client priorities.

Strong presentation, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.

No frequent job changes (ideally stable employment history).

engagements. You will manage multiple client relationships end-to-end, supervise and mentor teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients across a variety of industries. This role is a primary pathway to

within the firm.

You will collaborate closely with specialists across the tax practice, including the Washington National Tax Office (WNTO), while leveraging advanced tools, technology, and firm resources to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities\nClient & Engagement Management

Lead and manage multiple client engagements, including planning, execution, direction, and completion of tax projects

Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong working relationships with client leadership and staff

Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance solutions

Manage engagement economics, including realization, utilization, leverage, budgets, accounts receivable, and expenses

Tax Technical Leadership

Oversee and review complex corporate income tax returns

Perform primary and secondary reviews of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements

Research and consult on complex federal, state, and international tax matters

Apply strong knowledge of corporate income tax, SALT, international taxation, and transfer pricing

Team Leadership & Development

Supervise, train, mentor, and develop staff across engagements

Assess performance for engagement and year‑end reviews

Foster a collaborative, high‑performance team environment

Business Development & Growth

Support firm growth and profitability through business development activities

Leverage professional networks to identify and pursue new opportunities

Participate in marketing initiatives, industry events, and community activities

Professional Standards

Adhere to the highest professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards

Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Must‑Have Qualifications\nEducation

Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)

Master's degree in Taxation, LLM in Taxation, or JD (preferred)

Certifications

CPA or active JD / active law (attorney) license – REQUIRED

Experience

Minimum 5–7 years of progressive corporate tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience

Strong hands‑on experience with ASC 740 income tax provisions

Skills & Technical Expertise

Corporate income tax compliance and planning

ASC 740 (tax provision preparation and/or audit support)

Broad‑based statutory income tax compliance

State & local taxation (SALT)

Taxation of international activity and transfer pricing

Strong US GAAP knowledge related to income taxes

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills

Recent experience in public accounting or professional services

Background with Top 20 accounting firms strongly preferred

Experience with ONESOURCE OTP / Client tax software

Stable employment history (ideally no frequent 1–2 year job hopping)

Additional Information

Job Summary

As the Corporate Tax Senior Manager, you will be a member of the Corporate Tax Solutions Family and work on business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting (either tax provision preparation or audit support) projects. The Corporate Tax Solutions Family generally has the primary tax relationship with the client, and you will help with the engagement management for multiple clients for your service line all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel.

Success in the Senior Manager role is the primary pathway to Partner or Managing Director in the firm.

You will collaborate with other team members and specialists in our tax practice, to support all areas of the clients tax functions. You will be empowered by our tools, technology, training, and support from other team members to take responsibility to produce quality work and help you achieve more, confidently.

Location : Hybrid work environment.

Minimum of 2 days a week in the office or a minimum of 2 days a week at the client site.

Key Responsibilities

Supervising the efforts of multiple client services teams on client engagements; planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects in a wide variety of industries

Providing innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients

Marketing, selling, designing, and implementing tax-planning strategies for clients and managing to budget

Support the growth and profitability of the firm by leveraging your external network and achieving sales and revenue targets, including identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to sell services to existing and potential clients

Participate in business development activities and other professional industry or community events to enhance your own and the firms brand

Effectively managing engagement fundamentals (i.e., realization, utilization, leverage, accounts receivable, expenses)

Managing, developing, training, and mentoring staff on tax projects and assessing performance for engagement and year-end reviews

Conducting primary and secondary review of complicated or complex tax returns prepared by staff and making recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities

Conducting primary and secondary review of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements - Researching and consulting on various tax matters

Maintaining a good working relationship with clients as the primary service team contact and working effectively with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform tax services

Gaining an understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives, and utilizing that knowledge on engagements

Attending professional development and training sessions on a regular basis

Adhering to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality - Other duties as assigned

Technical skills and qualifications

Required Skills

1. Must have CPA or active JD/attorney license; ASC 740 tax provision experience.

2. Minimum 5 to 7 years' progressive corporate tax compliance & ASC 740 provision experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Preferred or Nice-to-have Skills

Public accounting, professional services experience, top 20 accounting firms in the last few years
