As a
Corporate Tax Senior Manager , you will be a key member of the Corporate Tax Solutions team, leading complex corporate income tax compliance, tax planning, and
ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes)
engagements. You will manage multiple client relationships end-to-end, supervise and mentor teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients across a variety of industries. This role is a primary pathway to
Partner or Managing Director
within the firm.
You will collaborate closely with specialists across the tax practice, including the Washington National Tax Office (WNTO), while leveraging advanced tools, technology, and firm resources to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities Client & Engagement Management
Lead and manage multiple client engagements, including planning, execution, direction, and completion of tax projects
Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong working relationships with client leadership and staff
Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance solutions
Manage engagement economics, including realization, utilization, leverage, budgets, accounts receivable, and expenses
Tax Technical Leadership
Oversee and review complex corporate income tax returns
Perform primary and secondary reviews of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements
Research and consult on complex federal, state, and international tax matters
Apply strong knowledge of corporate income tax, SALT, international taxation, and transfer pricing
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise, train, mentor, and develop staff across engagements
Assess performance for engagement and year‑end reviews
Foster a collaborative, high‑performance team environment
Business Development & Growth
Support firm growth and profitability through business development activities
Leverage professional networks to identify and pursue new opportunities
Participate in marketing initiatives, industry events, and community activities
Professional Standards
Adhere to the highest professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards
Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Must‑Have Qualifications Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
Master's degree in Taxation, LLM in Taxation, or JD (preferred)
Certifications
CPA or active JD / active law (attorney) license – REQUIRED
Experience
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive corporate tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience
Strong hands‑on experience with ASC 740 income tax provisions
Skills & Technical Expertise
Corporate income tax compliance and planning
ASC 740 (tax provision preparation and/or audit support)
Broad‑based statutory income tax compliance
State & local taxation (SALT)
Taxation of international activity and transfer pricing
Strong US GAAP knowledge related to income taxes
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Recent experience in public accounting or professional services
Background with Top 20 accounting firms strongly preferred
Experience with ONESOURCE OTP / Client tax software
Stable employment history (ideally no frequent 1–2 year job hopping)
Additional Information
