Brookdale Senior Living Gardens of Tarzana is looking for an experienced Executive Director for their 83‑unit assisted living community. The ideal candidate will be RCFE licensed with prior experience in senior living and in an active Assistant Director or Executive Director position.

Base pay range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Full‑time associates in this role are eligible for an annual bonus incentive and sales referral bonuses. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

Responsibilities
- Lead the day‑to‑day operations of a community of 60‑65 units (or 65‑175 units) with up to two product lines.
- Direct associate relations, resident and family engagement, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Create and execute the business plan and partner with district team to grow revenue and profitability.
- Collaborate with sales to drive occupancy and revenue targets.
- Build an inclusive community culture that provides high‑quality resident experiences.
- Build strong working relationships with management team, empower department leaders, and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain high‑quality associates; manage promotions, development plans, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Maintain positive resident relations, solve resident problems and resolve issues, and lead renewal programs.
- For assisted living or memory care communities, collaborate with community clinical leader to ensure appropriate care services.
- Ensure resident services, admission process, healthcare management, documentation, and service plan reviews meet company policy and legal requirements.
- Manage financial acumen: develop, analyze, and execute budgets; meet or exceed revenue, profitability, and occupancy goals.
- Drive sales and marketing efforts, generating leads, building strategic relationships, and maximizing revenue.
- Build relationships with local influencers, professionals, governmental agencies, and community groups.
- Maintain property standards through preventative maintenance systems and inspections.
- Enforce company policies and maintain applicable licenses.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum three years of related operational leadership experience.
- Additional experience may substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
Certifications, Licenses, and Other Requirements
- Valid RCFE administrator license in required states.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
Management/Decision Making
- Uses strong analytical skills and deep understanding of the organization.
- Demonstrates leadership to coordinate resident care, marketing, food service, housekeeping, and maintenance units.
- Manages department leaders per company policies and applicable laws.
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced knowledge of the organization, industry, and functional disciplines.
- Strong Microsoft software proficiency.
- Excellent written and oral communication.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Standing, walking, sitting, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl

- Requires interaction with co‑workers, residents or vendors
- Occasional weekend, evening, or night work; on‑call as needed
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infections, latex, blood‑borne pathogens, chemicals, drugs, and other hazards
- Occasional travel; requires driving (Tier 2)
