Summary
The Administrative Director of Data Analytics is responsible for advancing the organization’s data strategy, infrastructure, and analytics innovation. This role leads the development of a scalable data platform and data product ecosystem that enables value-based care, risk adjustment, population health management, operational optimization, and clinical decision support. The Director will guide the organization in transforming data into actionable intelligence to improve patient outcomes, enhance efficiency, and support systemwide strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Planning/Vision Competency: Provides vision, forward thinking and strategic planning in a proactive manner while being open-minded and creative in establishing a strategic direction; develops through an integration of ideas of those involved, an organized strategy to achieve both short and long term objectives for the department; effectively communicates strategy to obtain commitment by the responsible individuals. Accountability: Leads enterprise data and analytics strategic planning aligned with organizational goals. Develops and communicates a comprehensive roadmap for data platform modernization, advanced analytics, and data product strategy. Evaluates emerging technologies and analytics capabilities that support value-based care, population health, risk adjustment, and clinical/operational decision support. Collaborates with clinical and operational leadership to ensure analytics strategy supports health system priorities.
- Fiscal Management Competency: Demonstrates a personal accountability for financial results through development of an annual budget and operational plan and management of performance based on plan; engages staff in efforts to contain costs and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of services; understands the basics of health care financial management. Accountability: Oversees budgeting and financial planning for the data analytics department and related initiatives. Optimizes resource allocation, software investments, and infrastructure costs while ensuring scalability. Identifies revenue enhancement opportunities through analytic innovation and data products that support value-based care and operational improvement. Manages financial performance against volume-adjusted budget expectations.

Leads change management ensuring successful adoption of data products and decision support tools.

- Other duties as assigned: Performs additional responsibilities as needed to support the mission, values, and operational needs of the organization.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Research, Health Economics, or a related field required.
- Master’s Degree or Advanced degree (PhD) in Health Services Research, Health Economics, or a related field preferred.
- 7-10 years related experience required.
- Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing data platform development and advanced analytics initiatives, with a focus on value-based care, risk adjustment, population health, health system operations, decision support, and data product strategy.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to align data initiatives with business, patient care, population health, and decision support objectives, emphasizing data product development and strategy.
- Expertise in data platform architecture, development, and integration, with a deep understanding of healthcare-specific challenges and decision support needs, complemented by data product strategy proficiency.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing advanced analytics solutions in the context of value-based care and risk adjustment methodologies, incorporating data product strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex healthcare data concepts to diverse stakeholders, including those involved in decision support and data product strategy discussions.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment within the healthcare data landscape, with a specific focus on decision support and data product development.
