Director, CCIA Product Portfolio Strategy & Enablement (REMOTE - USA) – Minneapolis / St Paul area preferred

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is hiring a Director, CCIA Product Portfolio Strategy & Enablement (REMOTE - USA) with preference for Minneapolis / St Paul area. This role supports Beckman’s VP of Immunoassay Innovation, Product, & Program Management in defining and prioritizing the Immunoassay innovation and R&D pipeline, leading cross-functional initiatives, and building capabilities to support product management across the lifecycle. The director will identify unmet clinical needs and translate them into products, and manage the sustainment and post-launch evolution of the product portfolio. This position is part of the Clinical Chemistry & Immunoassay Business Unit at the Center of Excellence for Immunoassay in Chaska, MN and will be onsite; remote options may be considered for highly-qualified candidates.

The Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish Immunoassay portfolio strategy and priorities, guiding the execution roadmap for new product development, product lifecycle management, and global product registration expansion and protection
  • Partner with product management leadership to set a clear vision for best-in-class capabilities and coach Innovation & Technical Product Managers; maintain strong cross-functional relationships with R&D, Clinical & Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Operations, and Quality
  • Own and improve product management processes for evaluating and prioritizing innovation opportunities, including business case development, forecasting, portfolio metrics, comparison methodologies, and product strategy review forums
  • Own and improve processes for collecting voice of customer and other insights, translating customer needs into compelling product strategies and concepts
  • Assess, prioritize, and lead cross-portfolio initiatives related to product quality, lifecycle management, regulatory changes, and margin improvement (e.g., assay formulation changes, packaging, IVDR)

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

  • 20+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, engineering, medicine, and/or business management OR 18+ years with a Master’s/Doctoral degree in related fields
  • Proven track record in product innovation and/or lifecycle management within Diagnostics or related industries; deep healthcare industry knowledge
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills with a track record of turning market insights into product opportunities
  • Strong collaborative leadership, matrix organization experience, and change management capabilities
  • Experience communicating technical information to diverse audiences and championing cross-functional initiatives
  • Occasional travel up to 20%; some international travel may be required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in top-tier strategy consulting or 5+ years in product management/development with understanding of the product lifecycle
  • Master’s, Ph.D., or M.D. is preferred but not required
  • Prior people management experience
  • Experience in Immunoassay Diagnostics, infectious disease, neurodegenerative disease, and/or cardiometabolic disease

The salary range for this role is $200,000 – $250,000. This range is provided in good faith and may be modified in the future. The role is eligible for a bonus/incentive pay. Beckman Coulter offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan for eligible employees.
