
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading all site-level supply chain operations to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of products to customers. This role oversees planning, buying, warehousing, logistics, and materials management while aligning with corporate supply chain strategies. The Director will be a key member of the site leadership team, driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment.
MAJORDUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY
- Lead the site’s end-to-end supply chain organization, including planning, procurement, materials management, warehouse, and logistics functions.
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support business growth, profitability, and customer service objectives.
- Serve as a key business partner to Operations, Quality, R&D, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment on production priorities and project timelines.
PLANNING & MATERIALS MANAGEMENT
- Oversee Master Production Scheduling (MPS), capacity planning, and materials requirements planning (MRP) to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, balancing service levels with working capital goals.
- Monitor and improve forecasting accuracy and demand planning processes in collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.
LOGISTICS & WAREHOUSING
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse operations, and distribution to customers or brand owners.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements for materials storage and transportation.
- Implement best practices in warehouse management, material flow, and space utilization.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT & PERFORMANCE
- Develop KPIs to track and improve supply chain performance (e.g., OTIF, inventory turns, supplier OTIF, cost savings).
- Lead Site SIOP Process
- Lead or participate in Lean/Six Sigma and digital transformation initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Drive process standardization and ERP system optimization.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing supply chain team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or related field;
- 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in contract manufacturing, healthcare, beauty, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries.
- Proven experience in end-to-end supply chain management, including planning, procurement, and logistics.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA, ISO, or cosmetic manufacturing regulations.
- Experience implementing or optimizing ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements, cost reductions, and service enhancements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Possesses knowledge of manufacturing processes, planning and scheduling techniques.
- Possesses experience and knowledge of materials management. Advanced computer skills and literacy.
- MRP/ERP and forecast programs – NetSuite a plus
- Microsoft Office with expertise in Excel.
