About the Role
The Director of Commercial Strategy, Oncology serves as Vumedi's in-house industry and disease-state expert within the commercial organization, focusing on Oncology. This role bridges scientific credibility and commercial strategy—partnering with pharma clients, solutions, and sales to shape educational strategies that address key HCP barriers and drive outcomes across the brand lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the medical and strategic overlay on high-impact oncology accounts, supporting the Solutions team during pre-sales engagements and proposal development.
- Collaborate with Solutions and Sales to translate brand objectives into evidence-based, education-focused recommendations.
- Participate in client-facing meetings as a credible scientific partner to pharma marketers and medical stakeholders.
- Provide insights that elevate Vumedi's differentiation and value in complex, data-driven conversations.
- Conduct research to identify HCP education gaps, leveraging KOL insights, published data, and real-world trends.
- Partner with Education and Solutions teams to translate insights into learning objectives and strategic proposals.
- Evaluate emerging oncology data, guideline changes, and competitor messaging to advise internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide scientific oversight on proposed learning journeys, tactics, and content frameworks, ensuring accuracy, balance, and clinical relevance.
- Collaborate with Education to align KOL involvement, content themes, and program structure with brand objectives.
- Act as Vumedi's medical voice for the oncology community—contributing thought leadership, training internal teams, and sharing external insights.
- Stay current on pipeline developments, pivotal trials, and evolving standards of care.
- Support the development of internal playbooks and education templates that scale across specialties.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in the oncology therapeutic area—ideally within medical affairs, scientific communications, or strategy roles in pharma, biotech, or education. Experience consulting with multiple disease states within oncology preferred.
- Proven ability to synthesize data and communicate insights to cross-functional audiences (medical, commercial, and marketing).
- Strong presentation and client-facing skills; comfortable engaging with senior-level pharma stakeholders.
- Experience in digital or peer-to-peer medical education preferred.
- Collaborative, strategic mindset; thrives in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
