BMZ USA, Inc. develops and produces high‑tech lithium‑ion battery systems and is looking for a Director of Operations to join our team. BMZ USA is one of the four development and manufacturing sites of BMZ Group that employs almost 2,000 people worldwide. We offer a friendly, safe working environment and a place to grow. Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced, strategic Director of Operations to lead and oversee our day‑to‑day operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business operations, strong leadership and team‑building skills, and a proven track record of driving efficiency and productivity. You will need to lead and coordinate the activities of a multi‑disciplinary operations team and directly oversee managers, supervisors, and individual contributors. You will be responsible for improving performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability at BMZ USA through the development of cross‑functional teams, implementation and monitoring of KPI’s, and the development and championing of continual improvement initiatives.

Job Functions

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to support business objectives and growth
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure efficient workflows across all assigned departments
  • Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation for operational efficiency
  • Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze metrics to drive improvements
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and cost‑efficiency
  • Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures for standardization
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and performance
  • Develop strategic growth plans for the Production, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Service, and Logistics departments
  • Ensure Production team goals and processes are aligned and support organizational safety, financial, and quality objectives
  • Provide direct management oversight to the Industrial Engineering team in the design and implementation of production lines (including plan layout and infrastructure requirements of the assembly floor)
  • Improve and monitor inventory control methods to enhance the performance of the Logistics team
  • Ensure facilities meet all current and planned organizational requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by the Managing Director

Minimum Essential Skills And Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business management or a related field and 5+ years of related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must exhibit strong team‑building skills
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Strong communication and decision‑making skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be proficient and experienced in the use of ERP software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Vision abilities required. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST., Monday through Friday. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA. Work conditions may include elevated noise levels requiring hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to some mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment, possibly including hearing protection, as well as proper grounding equipment to eliminate the chance of electrostatic discharge.
