Job Description

Join GDIT’s Intelligence and Homeland Security (IHS) CTO organization and help drive the technical solutions needed to win our most complex and strategic deals. As the Director, Solutions Architect for the IHS Chief Technology Office, you will manage the development of solutions for proposals in the intelligence market space and directly interface with internal and external clients on a pre‑proposal basis.

The candidate will analyse RFI and RFP requirements, develop responsive solutions, review solutions developed by others, and present solutions to clients. They will create logical and physical architectures, author proposal materials, and manage a small to medium‑sized team of solution architects.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Lead technical solution strategy throughout the capture and proposal lifecycle, from early qualification through proposal submission.
  • Contribute to GDIT win strategies and lead the development of technical win themes and solution readiness plans.
  • Engage current and prospective customers to understand critical needs, socialize and vet solutions, and advise on acquisition strategies.
  • Identify and select the best technical solutions and approaches to meet anticipated or actual acquisition requirements.
  • Lead solution design and develop key artifacts, including architectural models, process diagrams, concepts of operation, and staffing plans.
  • Develop unsolicited technical recommendations, collateral and RFI/SSN responses to engage prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with GDIT technical service areas and business lines to identify and bring the best technical and business strategies.
  • Contribute to teaming strategies, including identifying and vetting potential partners.
  • Develop cost strategies, LOEs/BOEs/BOMs, and associated rationale.

Proposal Leadership

  • Ensure readiness of solution and proposal support team to prepare a compelling and compliant response to the government’s solicitation.
  • Lead development of technical volumes and oral presentations for proposals.
  • Coach and advise junior solution architecture and proposal support resources.
  • Ensure integration of technical solution with all sections and volumes of the proposal.
  • Review proposals and provide critical feedback to strengthen solutions and proposals.
  • Author technical volume introductions, key sections and oral slides, including developing compelling graphics.

Minimal Qualifications To Be Considered

  • 20+ years of experience.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance, with Poly clearance strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience successfully architecting technical solutions and leading complex capture pursuits and proposals.
  • Experience providing cybersecurity solutions to federal and Intelligence Community customers.
  • Experience with technical leadership and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the solution architecture for a deal that booked over $750M.
  • Ability to lead solution development and technical proposal volumes for large‑scale ($1B+) deals.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
  • Ability to motivate teams over long capture periods and challenging proposal development.
  • Ability to engage customers, build trust, communicate solutions, and influence action.
  • Ability to write exceptional, compliant, and compelling narrative.
  • Ability to conceptualize and communicate rich graphic visuals.

Likely salary range: $224,765 – $304,095, subject to experience, geography, and contractual requirements.
