Job Description Summary

The Procurement Director - Information Technology (IT), Lab and R&D directs the development and maintenance of leading-edge global and regional sourcing strategies and appropriate supply bases with clear spend governance for the assigned group of categories. Brings subject matter expertise in coaching category teams and ensuring that external partners deliver sustainable value for BD.

Responsibilities

• For the assigned group of categories, ensure Global category teams are formed, functional and effective, and that resulting category strategies are communicated and approved
• Develop category strategies inclusive of regional business requirements, reflect external regional market conditions, and produce 3–5 year roadmaps of savings and value streams; evaluate innovation opportunities for category strategy development
• Engage and partner with C-suite level stakeholders to align strategic direction with functional and business strategies
• Develop a robust supplier selection process consistent with sourcing strategies; obtain appropriate stakeholder approvals and communicate selections to end users
• Maintain year-on-year financial accountability for the group of categories with respect to price movement and market dynamics
• Be accountable for strategic planning, negotiation and contracting with suppliers in collaboration with stakeholders and the business
• Lead and coordinate supplier relationship management activities across the assigned categories at executive and C-Suite levels
• Develop and maintain risk mitigation plans including compliance for the assigned categories
• Ensure optimal supply base compliance with corporate procedures and social responsibility reporting requirements
• Apply the source-to-pay process within sourcing strategies, including customer-centric support content and preferred payment methods
• Lead selection, development, allocation and evaluation of a team of sourcing associates; provide guidance on spend penetration, strategy development, plan creation, supplier relationship management and stakeholder engagement
• Ensure alignment of Procurement with customer goals and influence significant business decisions and resource planning
• Understand customer business/region strategy and reflect these in category strategies and implementation plans
• Drive category strategies and STP process improvements into the business/functions/region

Qualifications

• Direct experience with large global IT services and consulting companies in software, hardware and R&D/Lab services to enable value creation and innovation
• Knowledge of contracting options and operating models for global IT services and consulting; experience leading and coaching teams through complex negotiations and transformations
• High degree of knowledge in global IT categories (hardware, software, cloud, IT services, telecommunications and R&D/Lab Services)
• Understanding of IT risk and methodologies including cybersecurity, cloud, IoT and AI/ML
• Strong relationship-building skills across all levels, including C-Suite stakeholders

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field
• MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of ten years professional experience
• Minimum five years managing professionals

$169,700.00 - $305,700.00 USD Annual
