Summary
The Program Director, Operational Planning within the Children’s Health Medical Group (CHMG) is responsible for overseeing the project management and onboarding of acquisitions integrated into CHST. This role, positioned under DPMSC, is integral to the successful integration of clinics into the system. Major responsibilities include leading a cross‑functional team with responsibility for planning/onboarding, risk and issue management, commitment request communication, status reporting, team member training, vendor management and additional tasks. This role will also lead large, high‑visibility long‑term programs and/or projects as needed.
Responsibilities
- Oversee acquisition onboarding into the system.
- Lead cross‑functional workgroups consisting of representatives from various departments to ensure a smooth and successful integration of clinics into our health system.
- Foster consistency, quality and continuous improvement of the team's services and tools.
- Develop and publish dashboards and deliver presentations on program and project status, metrics and roadmaps.
- Maintain understanding of current progress toward goals, implementation challenges, and develop comprehensive solutions to address them.
- Provide orientation, training, continuing education and development of staff as needed.
- Demonstrate commitment to personal development and training, conducting project management training among staff, project teams and partners.
- Manage program and/or project life cycle including commitment requests, initiation, planning, execution and close‑out.
- Demonstrate effectiveness in leadership through broad collaborative skills, deliberate decision‑making and effective delegation and follow‑up.
- Build necessary partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive effective teamwork, collaboration and commitment across several disparate groups.
- Maintain and communicate current knowledge of project management best practices and industry trends.
- Act as a neutral arbiter and help resolve disputes or disagreements in direction among working groups.
- Effectively communicate the vision, purpose and value of the Children’s Health Medical Group to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and interpret data to communicate needs, opportunities and results.
- Work independently, exercising appropriate action and good business judgment.
- Comfortably adjust to change and ambiguity.
- Manage multiple priorities, organize tasks and maintain control of workflow.
Work Experience
- At least 7 years of experience in business management, and/or project management and program management, with at least 3 years of experience managing a large, complex program.
- Project management experience with demonstrated success in leading teams and meeting strategic goals.
Education
- Four‑year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
