Director of Facilities Operations – K-12 Campus (Greenwich, CT)

We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities Operations to lead facilities management at a prestigious independent K-12 school campus in Greenwich, CT . This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for delivering best-in-class integrated facilities management (IFM) services across a historic, mission-driven academic environment.

This position requires on-campus residency in a provided apartment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of trades and custodial professionals to maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming campus environment.
  • Oversee all aspects of facility operations, including preventive maintenance, custodial services, vendor management, and capital planning.
  • Develop strong partnerships with school leadership and faculty, ensuring responsive and collaborative service delivery.
  • Manage operating budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships to optimize cost-effective solutions.
  • Apply technical expertise in mechanical systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS, Trane preferred) to troubleshoot and improve campus performance.
  • Support campus events, seasonal needs, and long-term facilities planning initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in integrated facilities management (IFM).
  • Proven track record managing facilities in a school, campus, or similar multi-building environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and BAS.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Financial and operational expertise, including budget oversight and project execution.
  • Willingness to reside in employer-provided on-campus housing.

Base pay range

$120,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr
