Job Overview

We are a leading investment management firm specializing in below‑investment‑grade credit markets in the United States. Our strategies focus on leveraged loans and high‑yield bonds, managed in CLO (Collateralized Loan Obligation) and other fund formats, delivering superior risk‑adjusted returns through rigorous credit analysis and disciplined portfolio construction.

The Managing Director (MD), Credit Research will lead the firm’s credit research function while maintaining hands‑on involvement in the investment process. This is a player/coach role, requiring the candidate to manage a team of analysts while also covering a personal book of credits. The MD will ensure quality control of the research process, uphold analytical standards, and contribute directly to portfolio performance.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high‑performing team of credit analysts.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain direct coverage of a personal portfolio of leveraged loan and high‑yield bond issuers.
  • Conduct in‑depth fundamental credit analysis, financial modeling, and covenant review.
  • Provide timely recommendations and risk assessments for investment decisions.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and rigor across all research outputs.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for credit analysis and documentation.
  • Maintain robust internal risk frameworks.
  • Partner with portfolio managers to identify attractive investment opportunities and manage risk.
  • Contribute to portfolio construction decisions through rigorous credit recommendations.
  • Leverage familiarity with CLO structures and constraints to optimize investment decisions.
  • Present research findings and recommendations to the investment committee.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external clients regarding credit views and market outlook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 10+ years of experience in credit research, with a focus on leveraged loans and high‑yield bonds.
  • Deep understanding of below‑investment‑grade credit markets, including capital structures and covenant analysis.
  • Proven leadership experience managing research teams while maintaining personal coverage responsibilities.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with CLO structures and portfolio management considerations highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • CFA designation or MBA preferred.

Compensation

Nassau maintains a holistic compensation philosophy focused on competitive base salaries, performance‑driven incentives, and unique professional development opportunities. The base salary for this position falls within Nassau’s base salary range of $225,000–$300,000, depending upon experience.
