Business Development Leader – Energy Sector (Nuclear & Industrial)

Location: Houston preferred | Remote considered

Travel: Up to 50%

About the Role

Cyient is seeking a seasoned Business Development leader to accelerate growth across our Product and Plant Engineering Network Services and Solutions portfolio. This role is focused on doubling Energy sector revenues within two years by expanding existing and winning new accounts to secure new business opportunities.

You will lead high-impact sales initiatives, develop strategic customer relationships at the executive level, and drive complex technical and commercial deal structures to closure. This position requires a strong command of the Energy sector—particularly Nuclear and Industrial—and proven success selling engineering services at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth and profitability across a portfolio of existing and new Energy accounts
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of new customers and expanded offerings for current clients
  • Oversee opportunity progression through a structured sales process and CRM discipline
  • Lead the creation of innovative business proposals, including technical and commercial solutions
  • Negotiate and close contracts, MSAs, and pricing agreements with a focus on long-term value
  • Cultivate strategic, executive-level relationships to deepen trust and expand partnerships

Must-Have Experience

  • 10+ years in a metrics-driven services and solutions sales environment
  • Direct sales experience in the Energy sector; Nuclear and Industrial experience strongly preferred
  • Established network of C-suite, VP, and Director-level leaders in Energy
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing a structured go-to-market strategy
  • Proven ability to drive multimillion-dollar revenue growth and profitability
  • Strong negotiation skills with a record of creating mutual value for both client and company
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to build complex technical proposals
  • Expertise in structuring deals, contracts, and master service agreements

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of business development and sales processes
  • Working knowledge across mechanical and electrical engineering, IoT, and analytics
  • Strong domain expertise in Energy, especially Nuclear and Power Plant operations and markets
  • Additional experience selling data center engineering or infrastructure solutions to hyperscalers is highly desired.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in engineering, business, or finance preferred
  • Exceptional communication and professional presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively across multinational and multicultural teams
  • Houston home-base preferred; remote work is available for the right candidate
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50%
