Location: Coppell, Texas (Fully on-site)

Reporting to: VP / Head of Finance

The Opportunity

We are working on behalf of a hypergrowth, VC-backed B2B SaaS company in search of a Director of Data . This is a foundational role offering broad ownership over the company’s data strategy and infrastructure. As a high-impact individual contributor , you will be instrumental in building the data function from the ground up and enabling cross-functional visibility and decision-making.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for clean design, scalable systems, and storytelling with data.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a cloud-native data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) to serve as a centralized hub for company-wide data sources (Sales, Product, Marketing, Engineering, Finance).
• Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data into the warehouse, with high reliability and efficiency.
• Define and enforce data validation and quality protocols , addressing inconsistencies, missing values, and ensuring data integrity.
• Design and implement dashboards and reporting infrastructure (e.g., Tableau, Looker) that act as the definitive source of truth for company metrics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and data strategy that align with business priorities and objectives.
• Lay the groundwork for a scalable analytics function , including potential future team leadership.
• Serve as a data thought partner across the organization, helping drive growth and operational excellence through insight and automation.

Who You Are

Experience & Skills

• 5–8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence, ideally at a high-growth SaaS or tech company.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Python , Java, or Scala.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data services.
• Knowledge of modern data warehouse technologies (Snowflake, Databricks), orchestration tools (Airflow), and transformation frameworks (dbt).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Thrive in early-stage, fast-moving environments and enjoy building things from scratch.
• Communicate complex data clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Think holistically about infrastructure, scalability, and design .
• Understand SaaS business metrics and KPIs , and can interpret both operational and financial trends.
• Are self-motivated and comfortable wearing multiple hats in an entrepreneurial setting.
