Job Description

This position is responsible for leading a team of global platform product managers in identifying and delivering on growth and profitability objectives for the platform. It includes building the business globally by identifying new opportunities for growth, developing competitive plans to further penetrate existing markets, developing and delivering all new product initiatives, and acting as a liaison to regional marketing counterparts while meeting or exceeding global revenue targets. The role directly manages and develops a team of marketing professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the VP/GM and PIVC LT on all product lines within the PIVC Platform as a critical resource to align on strategy and deliver results, including globally assessing competitive landscape, identifying and leveraging key portfolio opportunities, and developing positioning to drive business growth.
  • Identify and support key innovation and sustaining projects, leading teams through Launch Excellence / GPDS phases to exceed launch targets, and ensuring timely execution and meeting of key deliverables with country/region marketers.
  • Develop strong prioritized global commercialization plans that leverage customer insights, create effective pricing strategies, identify target customers, and drive key messages to support commercial launch excellence.
  • Partner with the strategy and innovation team to identify and monitor key growth opportunities globally and collaborate to develop new product development strategies, working closely with regions to update and analyze data to identify trends.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for platform needs and workflows across stakeholders.
  • Own the platform portfolio and roadmap, managing and executing all aspects of the product lifecycle from business case to end‑of‑life.
  • Work closely with downstream and regional marketing to provide content and drive positioning of new products and services.
  • Collaborate with business development to identify and assess potential acquisition or investment targets.
  • Assess financial implications, including profitability and viability, for complex product/market trade‑offs.
  • Manage market research activities to develop fact‑based customer insights.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in medical device and/or global marketing.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization, including board members.
  • Proven ability to work in a high‑paced environment and routinely handle multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.
  • Action‑oriented with demonstrated ability to drive results.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic, analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience working with international leaders and a willingness to travel internationally.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills related to interfacing and establishing relationships with customers and key influencers to ensure that marketing decisions are customer‑driven.
  • High integrity and ethics and a strong fit with BD values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced environment.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or Technical Field. MBA preferred.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use sight, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and office equipment. The employee frequently must verbally communicate with other associates. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
