
Job Description Summary
As a key member of the Pharmacy Automation Integrated Supply Chain staff, the Sr. Director, End-to-End Value Stream Leader will be responsible for driving the development and execution of supply chain and operations strategies, with a primary focus on delivery and cost. Performance objectives will be centered largely on enabling the Pharmacy Automation business to achieve and exceed revenue and growth goals and reacting when achievement of goals is at risk. The incumbent will provide the leadership and troubleshooting acumen necessary to identify optimal solutions to operational problems and work cross-functionally to coordinate timely and effective problem resolution.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Has accountability of the ISC operating model in the platform and orchestration of the product value stream management; remains main point of accountability / escalation within ISC for the VP GM
Leads design and implementation of the product value stream to maximize customer value and deliver business objectives
Partners with BU Supply Chain, Platform Business Team and Regional Commercial leaders to identify key customer needs, business requirements and go-to-market strategy for a specific product line
New Product:
Works in close collaboration with Global ISC Strategy, GIE, BU Supply Chain and BU Procurement team to:
Establish key performance objectives for the integrated product value stream to deliver on the identified customers’ needs and business requirements
Model demand evolution over time
Co-develop a fit for purpose end-to-end supply chain network architecture (source, make, deliver) with location of key suppliers, manufacturing plant(s) and distribution center(s)
Co-develop on a make or buy solution, select the most appropriate manufacturing technology and level of automation; determine the distribution strategy and develop short-medium and long-term manufacturing capacity plan based on agreed level of surge capacity
Recommend the replenishment model to the Platform Business Team and Regional Commercial leaders specifying the customer lead time and the required inventory strategy
Support GIE to make sure design for manufacturing standards and best practices are implemented throughout the development process
Remains accountable of the project milestones and achievement of the ISC objectives for new product launch
Drives sustainability program and CO2 emissions per product line with with the global sustainability and EHS team
Current Product:
Works in close collaboration with Plants, BU Supply Chain, BU Procurement, Regional Supply Chain to drive BD Excellence end-to-end, assessing product value stream to identify flow breakers, opportunities to reduce lead time and improve end-to-end performance in terms of service, cash and cost
Partners with manufacturing plants and GIE to assess process and equipment needs for modernization as part of the manufacturing improvement Plants master plan
Co-develop with Global ISC Strategy, GIE, BU Supply Chain, Plants, Business platform and Regional commercial teams to drive rough cut and long-term manufacturing capacity planning

BU VP GM (and their LT): Aligns execution goals and strategy and be an escalation path
BU VP ISC (and their LT): Global BU Sustaining Engineering Leader sits on the BU ISC LT, to align on goals and be an escalation path
BU Supply Chain / Platform: Collaborates to design and execute E2E supply chain strategies
BU Procurement / Platform: Collaborates to design and execute Procurement strategies
MFG Plant leaders: Collaborates to execute capacity planning
GIE/ Global ISC Strategy: Enables regional teams to service and grow their markets and capture accurate demand signals
Minimum Requirements
Education
BS/BA degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
MBA preferred
Experience
10-15 years of experience in medical devices or life sciences
Demonstrated expertise in program, project, or operations management
Financial acumen; Finance experience a plus
Lean and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
Work autonomously with little day-to-day oversight
Travel up to two weeks in a typical month, three weeks in rare instances
Engage with both senior company leaders and production associates
Clearly articulate plans and priorities to a variety of audiences and make compelling arguments in support of them
Professionally represent BD when interacting with external partners
Understand and address a wide variety of production processes used within PI, how those processes deliver product requirements, and their associated risks
