Willoughby Golf Club, Inc. is a distinguished gated community seeking an experienced Director of Finance. This position represents a planned transition, as our current Director of Finance will be retiring after years of dedicated service. The successful candidate will work toward a Junestart date, allowing for a smooth and collaborative handoff. This is a key leadership role for a strategic, detail-oriented finance professional who understands the unique operating environment of a private club and HOA.

Position Overview

The Director of Finance is responsible for all financial operations of the Club, providing strategic guidance to the General Manager and Board, and ensuring fiscal integrity, transparency, and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, IT and financial reporting functions
• Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets
• Monitor cash flow, investments, and capital
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, audits, and internal controls
• Partner with department heads to analyze financial performance and improve efficiencies
• Provide clear, concise financial reporting to the General Manager, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors
• Support long‑term financial planning, capital projects, and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience; private club, hospitality, or nonprofit experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and internal controls
• Jonas or similar ERP proficiency; strong Excel skills
• Proven ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
• Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools
