About The Role
We are looking for a Regional Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team at Noatum Logistics . In this role, you will be responsible for growing the company’s global third-party logistics (3PL) business and leading a regional team of field sales (AKA BDMs). The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong import/export ocean (NVOCC) and air transportation skill set, bringing value to the industry and prospective clients with compelling value-added propositions that foster strong relationships. These solutions include customs brokerage, P.O./vendor management, I.T. services, consolidation/CFS, tied with international transportation. In addition, the Regional Director is responsible for training and growing field sales team members and teaching them how to successfully sell the “Noatum” way, through our BECORE sales strategy. Noatum Logistics is seeking a candidate with a strong track record in business development, managing territories, managing a team, and building internal teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Noatum Logistics USA's growth by developing new business in international ocean and air freight forwarding and supply chain management.
- Mentor and co-sell with the Business Development Managers (BDMs), in their assigned region.
- Weekly one-on-one calls with BDMs.
- Sales training, on the BECORE strategy and strategic guidance on overall targets.
- In alignment with the Commercial VP, qualitative and quantitative target setting to include: air, ocean, road KPI’s, sales performance evaluation of KPI’s, guidance on national sales campaigns, and numbers reporting vs. goals.
- Mentor and co-sell with the Inside Sales Specialists (ISS) during their training periods.
- Participate in monthly training calls with each ISS to expand their knowledge and understanding of compliance, brokerage and GTM.
- Provide co-selling and solution design support.
- Alignment with Branch Managers in the region:
- Quarterly in person meetings.
- Jointly manage assigned BDMs in the region.
- Align on regional KPI’s for sales team members.
- Develop and maintain customer-specific SOPs and business plans to exceed margin and volume goals.
- Understand and communicate current market conditions and business trends to create strategies that will increase company margins.
- Communicate and coordinate directly with internal teams to develop and execute business development strategies for new and existing customers.
- Report on performance as required, with insight into changes to customer performance and market impact factors.
- Manage business development programs as assigned to promote business between specific countries and/or product offerings.
What We Are Looking For
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years’ experience in 3PL international freight forwarding.
- Prior sales team management.
- Proven track record of new and existing business development in ocean and air freight forwarding and supply chain management services, including strong closing skills.
- Strong knowledge of the international freight forwarding and supply chain management industry and existing relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and time management skills, and ability to work independently.
- Strong desire to improve Noatum Logistics business performance, and further Noatum Logistics' product and brand development, with an excellent ability to work in a multi-national environment to develop the network.
- Experience in using CRM systems and customer call cycle planning.
- Competency in PC, spreadsheets, and database applications (including Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to speak two or more languages is beneficial.
