
Director of Non-traditional Development
The Zaxbys Support Center is looking for a Director of Non-traditional Development to join the Franchise Development team. The Director of Non-traditional Sales will lead the expansion of our franchise footprint into high-traffic, non-traditional locations. This strategic leadership role will drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and executing franchise opportunities in venues such as airports, travel plazas, universities, hospitals, entertainment venues, military bases, and other captive audience locations.

This position is field-based in the Atlanta, GA area and requires up to 60% travel.

Essential Job Functions
Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Strategic Development
- Develop and execute comprehensive non-traditional location expansion strategy
- Identify emerging venue categories and partnership opportunities aligned with brand positioning
- Create tailored development proposals for various venue types
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape in non-traditional food service
Business Development and Sales
- Build and manage robust pipeline of qualified non-traditional venue opportunities
- Lead sales process from prospecting through deal closure
- Negotiate terms and structure deals with venue operators, concessionaires, and facility management companies
- Attend industry conferences and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in travel, hospitality, and institutional food service sectors
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with real estate, operations, marketing, and legal teams to ensure successful deal execution
- Coordinate implementation of new non-traditional locations
- Develop financial models and analyze unit economics for various venue types
Key Competencies
- Proven ability to influence traditional franchisees towards the non-traditional space
- Established relationships across the industry with key partners including, but not limited to, Aramark, Compass, Sodexo, HMHHost, Parades, AAFES, etc.
- Deep understanding of operational and financial considerations unique to non-traditional locations
- Current knowledge of trends affecting non-traditional venue development
- Excellent negotiation skills for multi-stakeholder environments
- Business acumen with ability to create financial models and analyze complex deal structures
- Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
- Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment
Education and Experience Guidelines
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience: 7-10 years in franchise development within QSR or restaurant industry; 3-5 years specifically focused on non-traditional venue development
