This role is required to work in office five days per week in the location listed on the requisition. Plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving the execution rhythm for the Small Business Banking segment. The consultant will create operating plans that establish the drumbeat for the segment, ensuring clarity on priorities, accountability for deliverables, and alignment across stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting the Execution Agenda & Supporting Operating Planning: Develop and maintain operating plans that define execution priorities, timelines, and success measures for the Small Business Banking segment. Establish and manage the cadence of leadership routines, business reviews, and performance checkpoints to create a consistent execution rhythm.
- Initiative Leadership: Translate strategic objectives and execution priorities into actionable plans and lead cross‑functional initiatives that improve client experience, banker productivity, and overall business performance. Drive alignment across teams to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.
- Analysis & Insights: Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses (industry benchmarks, internal performance trends, financial data) to inform strategic decisions and measure outcomes. Identify performance gaps and recommend initiatives to accelerate progress.
- Storytelling & Communication: Craft compelling narratives and executive‑ready presentations for leadership forums, Board updates, and strategic reviews. Simplify complex data into clear, visual storytelling that educates and influences.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, HR, Risk, Technology, Marketing, and Operations to ensure seamless execution of initiatives. Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability.
- Business Management: Create and standardize templates, dashboards, and scorecards for performance tracking, headcount management, and initiative progress. Support leadership in managing priorities, resources, and timelines and meeting materials.
- Leadership & Development: Guide and mentor teammates, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 5‑7 years of progressive experience in banking / wealth management with a focus on Small Business Banking, Commercial Banking, execution‑oriented roles, Finance, or Strategy, or 3‑5 years in management consulting with exposure to strategy and execution workstreams, preferably at financial institutions.
- Strong critical‑thinking skills; ability to break down complex problems into actionable solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Small Business Banking or related financial services segments.
- Strong knowledge of strategic planning and execution, including technology enablement and process redesign.
- Advanced skills in data visualization and executive storytelling.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and manage organizational change.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- Executive presence and ability to engage with senior leadership confidently.
