Position Summary

The Business Development Director (BDD) for Manufacturing is a senior individual contributor responsible for driving net‑new enterprise logo acquisition within the manufacturing vertical.

This role owns early‑to‑mid‑funnel deal leadership: identifying and qualifying target accounts, running discovery, shaping initial solutioning, orchestrating internal resources, and progressing opportunities through the sales cycle in close partnership with the Manufacturing Solution Director (enterprise AE equivalent) and SDR.

You will act as the commercial quarterback for new opportunities in your pod—owning deal progression, forecast accuracy, and revenue outcomes. In order to be successful in this role, you will need a proficient understanding of Axis Group and DigitalNet.ai’s products and service offerings, as well as a working understanding of the Data, Analytics and AI landscape.

Responsibilities

Net‑New Logo Acquisition & Pipeline Development

  • Identify, research, and prioritize enterprise manufacturing accounts aligned to Axis Group’s ICP
  • Drive outbound and inbound opportunity creation in partnership with SDR support
  • Build and maintain a healthy, high‑quality pipeline of net‑new opportunities

Discovery & Qualification

  • Lead first‑call and early‑stage discovery conversations with executive, IT, and data leaders
  • Qualify opportunities using BANT / MEDDICC‑style rigor
  • Clearly articulate customer pain points and business outcomes

Deal Shaping & Progression

  • Shape initial engagements such as assessments, proofs of value, and pilot projects
  • Coordinate Solution Directors into opportunities for solution design
  • Own opportunity management from qualification through deal progression
  • Maintain accurate pipeline stages and close plans in CRM

Forecasting & Revenue Ownership

  • Own forecasting and pipeline reporting for Manufacturing pod opportunities
  • Commit to quarterly and annual revenue targets
  • Identify deal risks and mitigation strategies

Pod & Go‑to‑Market Collaboration

  • Partner with Solution Directors, SDRs, marketing, and alliance teams
  • Provide market feedback on manufacturing trends and competitive landscape

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 5+ years in enterprise B2B sales or business development roles
  • Proven track record selling data & analytics, cloud, AI, or consulting services
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

This position offers a competitive compensation package comprised of a base salary and a performance‑based incentive component aligned to individual quota attainment and overall company results. Total on‑target earnings (OTE) are commensurate with experience, scope of responsibility, and market benchmarks for enterprise business development roles. Incentive compensation is designed to reward sustained high performance.
