Director of Information Technology

Reports to: Vice President

Salary: 135-150k + 20% Bonus

Overview

We are seeking a hands‑on, strategic Director of Information Technology to lead and scale IT operations for a multi‑site manufacturing organization. This leader will be responsible for aligning technology strategy with business objectives while ensuring operational stability, security, and scalability across multiple plant locations.

This role bridges executive strategy and day‑to‑day technical execution. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, deep systems architecture experience, and a proven track record of ERP consolidation and IT standardization within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a long‑term IT roadmap aligned with business growth and operational excellence.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify scalable technology solutions that drive performance and efficiency.
  • Lead IT standardization initiatives across multiple facilities.

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Oversee networks, servers, cloud environments, data storage, and enterprise applications.
  • Ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance across plant and corporate environments.
  • Lead ERP consolidation initiatives and enterprise system integrations.

ERP & Applications

  • Provide leadership in ERP implementation, optimization, and consolidation across acquired or multi‑location operations.
  • Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and cross‑functional system alignment.
  • Experience with Sage or similar ERP platforms is strongly preferred.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain cybersecurity protocols and governance.
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and data protection standards.

Team & Vendor Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop internal IT talent.
  • Manage external vendors, consultants, and service providers.
  • Oversee annual IT budgeting, cost controls, and technology investment planning.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading ERP consolidation or multi‑system integration initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture, databases (SQL, Oracle), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience within a manufacturing organization, ideally with multiple plant locations.
  • Experience operating within a private equity‑backed environment strongly preferred.

Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or ITIL are a plus.
