The Role Athena Club is looking for an Amazon and Retail Marketing Manager to join the Growth Marketing team at our New York HQ. This role will report into our Senior Director of Growth Marketing and will own and scale our retail media strategy across Amazon Ads, Target Roundel, Walmart Connect, and retail couponing. This role sits at the intersection of performance marketing, retail partnerships, and revenue growth - perfect for someone who is excited to turn media dollars into measurable wins.
Responsibilities
Own and manage media budget across Amazon Ads, Target Roundel, and Walmart Connect to drive revenue and ensure efficient ROI across platforms
Collaborate with Retail, Brand, and Finance teams to closely align key in-store dates, brand campaigns, and seasonality with media spend and revenue goals
Develop full-funnel retail media strategies that drive awareness, conversion, and incremental purchases
Plan and optimize campaigns across Sponsored Ads, Display, Search, and Offsite placements
Lead keyword, audience, and creative testing to continuously improve performance
Analyze campaign performance and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations
Support new product launches, promotions, and seasonal moments with tailored media strategies
Monitor competitive landscape and retail media trends to inform testing and innovation
Own reporting and performance readouts for leadership and retail team
Requirements
4–6 years of experience in Amazon Ads and/or retail media for a digitally-native brand
Hands-on experience managing Amazon Ads (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display)
Familiarity with supporting omnichannel retail strategies (in-store + online)
Direct experience with Target Roundel and Walmart Connect strongly preferred
Proven ability to manage and scale significant media budgets with clear performance accountability
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with ROAS, CVR, CPC, and incrementality metrics
Experience working cross-functionally with Retail, Brand, and Creative teams
Ability to think strategically while executing tactically day-to-day
Strong communication skills and comfort presenting performance insights to stakeholders
