Dewberry is currently seeking a Construction Superintendent for the Southern CA Region. The role focuses on overseeing commercial construction projects, including renovations, retrofits, and upgrades to commercial buildings, retail facilities, and associated mechanical, electrical, and controls systems. Responsibilities include project planning, scheduling, site supervision, and coordination with inspectors, architects, engineers, clients, and local officials.
Responsibilities
Oversee renovations and retrofits to buildings on projects up to $5 million in construction, including project planning through implementation
Supervise and coordinate onsite personnel and subcontractors to ensure schedule compliance
Effectively manage projects to minimize changes, delays, and interference with end users
Perform minor demolition, general carpentry, framing, hardware installation, and small-scale facility upfit activities (preferred)
Interface with project inspectors, architects, engineers' clients, and local officials
Maintain standards and compliance with plans, specifications, and codes
Update and maintain daily logs and project documents for revisions, change orders, ASIs, etc.
Develop Job Hazard Analysis forms, conduct weekly toolbox safety talks, and ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines
Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
Demonstrate respectful and effective written and verbal communication
Required Skills & Experience
Experience working in occupied facilities (preferred)
Develop and update construction schedules (Microsoft Project or P6 experience preferred)
OSHA 10 and First Aid CPR Certificate (preferred)
Knowledge and use of Procore (preferred)
Proficient knowledge and experience with Microsoft software including Excel, Project and Word; as well as P6 scheduling tool (preferred)
Ability to travel regionally 25% (required)
Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to pass a driving record background check

Salary Range The projected range for this position is $96,688 - $138,125 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
