
Description
Responsible for all tasks associated with the spatial planning of exterior built environment, i.e. overall yard design, landscape design, plant selection, hardscape design, and lighting design. Responsible for effective, high quality, and timely delivery of multiple custom residential landscape design build projects from conception through to completion. This includes the coordination of all internal and external design and estimating professionals in order to; develop yard design program, create innovative designs, present to client, meet client expectations and budget, provide estimates, and produce high quality design deliverables in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Champion the landscape design vision, in collaboration with the project team
Present designs to client and manage client design and budget expectations as relates to the all exterior environment design elements
Fully accountable for the delivery and presentation of high-quality landscape design deliverables, on budget and on schedule, including;
preparation and presentations of all landscape related ‘client signoff’ documentation, in collaboration with the production team (if needed)
sketch-up model preparation and presentation, in collaboration with the project teams vision designer (if needed)
develop project budgets, leveraging our trade partners pricing modules
Research site materials, finishes, to support the full development of design concepts
Ensure designs meet applicable codes and regulations
Lead effort to Value Engineer when design and budget are misaligned
Manage and perform construction administration services
Requirements
Degree in Landscape Architecture (or equivalent combination of experience, training and education) and 3-8 years practical experience in design, the construction process, and preparation of construction documents
Licensure preferred, but not required
Experience owning and/or operating one’s own landscape design company preferred, but not required
Thorough knowledge of landscape architecture and urban design principles
Strong design, graphic, and verbal presentation skills
Strong level of professionalism, commitment to excellence, effective communicator, and problem solver
Outstanding design and presentation skills plus creative vision and artistic talent
Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills
Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity and a positive outlook
Versatility, flexibility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Strong level construction knowledge to understand construction process, terminology and codes, as relates to this role
Proficient in CAD (Revit preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, and Microsoft Office Suite products, and SketchUp
Ability to provide direction, meet timelines and work on multiple project at one time
Ability to complete tasks and projects on time with accuracy and detail
Strong work ethic with high level of integrity both in and out of work
General understanding of construction costs and how to implement value engineering techniques
Responsibilities include working side by side in a team environment
Ability to self-manage project assignments from start to finish
