A well established commercial General Contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to support preconstruction and bidding efforts on public works, education, and commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed takeoffs, collaborative estimating, and helping win competitive work in a fast paced GC environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial, public works, and education projects
Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify scope, risks, and constructability issues
Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor bids, including scope leveling and comparison
Develop budgets, conceptual estimates, and GMP pricing during preconstruction
Assist with bid strategy, value engineering, and pricing alternatives
Participate in pre bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews
Maintain organized estimate files, bid logs, and historical cost data
Support project handoff from preconstruction to operations teams
What We Are Looking For
3 or more years of estimating experience with a commercial General Contractor or major subcontractor
Experience estimating public works, education, or municipal projects strongly preferred
Strong understanding of construction means and methods
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Proficiency with estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam, Excel, and takeoff platforms
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast paced environment
