Property Assessor

This position will evaluate and classify properties within Nicollet County, calculate new construction changes and provide value estimates for proposed residential improvements and developments, respond to taxpayers' requests, and attend Board of Appeal and Equalization Meetings. Duties include: Evaluating properties; classifying all property to appropriate classes. Performing equalization and appraisal of properties county-wide. Calculating new construction changes and providing value estimates for proposed residential improvements and developments county-wide. Responding to taxpayers requests for information. Conducting property research and preparing special reports. Attending Board of Appeal and Equalization meetings; acting as an advisor and consultant to the Board; may assist the County Assessor to investigate and report on any assessment order. Performing other duties of a similar nature or level. Minimum qualifications: Associate's degree in real estate or a related field, and 2 years of appraisal experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the position. Must be an Accredited Minnesota Assessor (AMA) or must have the ability to be licensed as an AMA within the allowable statutory timeframe. Must have a valid Minnesota driver's license and have a reliable automobile for county related business.
