Packaging Lead
Temp to Hire 9am - 5:30pm Salary Range: $20.00 Key Responsibilities:
Lead, train, and supervise packaging operators to ensure efficient daily operations. Assign and coordinate daily tasks based on production schedules, output and priorities. Monitor packaging line performance, productivity, efficiency, and downtime to meet production targets. Ensure all packaged products meet quality standards, customer specifications, labeling accuracy, and lot traceability requirements. Troubleshoot operational and minor equipment issues; escalate maintenance concerns as needed. Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and inventory documentation. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Logistics, Purchasing and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely material availability. Enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and proper use of PPE. Conduct safety meetings and promote a clean, organized work environment using 5S standards. Monitor packaging material usage, control waste, and support cost-efficiency initiatives. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and support team development. Report incidents, quality issues, and operational challenges to management promptly. Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (Associate degree preferred). 23 years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, or warehouse operations. 12 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of packaging equipment and production line processes. Experience with vacuum sealer packaging machines a huge plus. Basic computer skills (ERP systems, MS Excel). Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime if required.
