Common Heart is seeking an

Economic Empowerment Director

to lead a deeply

relational, community-centered pathway

that helps families move from crisis to stability.

Over the past several years, this initiative has grown into a

network of staff, coaches, Allies, volunteers, and partners

serving more than

100 families each year

through

Getting Ahead, Life Coaching, Emergency Savings Incentives, Stability & Growth workshops, and our Economic Empowerment Allies program . We are looking for a leader who will

honor what has been built and help it continue to grow .

The Director provides leadership for all of Common Heart’s

Bridges Out of Poverty–based Economic Empowerment programs , supervising a

team of four staff , working closely with volunteers and community partners, and ensuring families experience

consistent, respectful, and empowering support .

This is not a start-from-scratch role. It is a

stewardship role

— walking alongside an established team and hundreds of neighbors as they build stronger futures.

What You’ll Do

Lead and coordinate Common Heart’s

Economic Empowerment programs

Supervise and support a team of

4 staff

Guide

Getting Ahead, Coaching, ESIP, Stability & Growth, and community workshops

Recruit and work with

volunteers and community partners

Track participant progress and program outcomes

Serve as part of Common Heart’s

leadership team

What We’re Looking For

3+ years

leading or managing a human services, coaching, education, or nonprofit program

3+ years

working directly with families facing financial hardship

3+ years

supervising staff

Experience working with

volunteers and community partners

Bridges Out of Poverty / Getting Ahead experience strongly preferred

Lived Experience of poverty a plus

Strong organization, communication, and

relationship-building

skills

Ability to remain calm, grounded, and respectful in difficult situations

Flexible schedule (some evenings)

Requirements

Alignment with Common Heart’s values of

Bachelor’s degree required

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Background check, references, and drug screening required

through 14 food pantries and supports approximately 100 families each year

through Economic Empowerment programing. We engage with over 10,000 volunteers and partners to create a
