A Gymnastics Team Coach represents the YMCA as a team leader in gymnastics. The primary responsibility is to provide a safe, educational and enjoyable gymnastics class to participants of a variety of ages. Gymnastics Instruction will be based on the USA Gymnastics Competitive Development as well as Xcel Program.
Responsibilities
Plan structured competitive team activities to stimulate the growth and development of participants utilizing YMCA values and the character development initiative
Teach both routines, skills and drills to Level 3 and 4 as well as Xcel Team Members
Develop team workout plans to ensure efficiency and that each child has the opportunity for advancement
Intentionally communicate with parents/participants regarding the progress of the gymnast
Effectively teach USA Gymnastics skills with age appropriate safety and properly using demonstrations and equipment
Maintain a safe environment; responsible for the supervision of their students within the class structure
Assist with conditioning exercises for competitive team
Flexibility to teach preschool and progressive gymnastics classes to help build the future of the competitive program is preferred
Must have a minimum of 2 years + of coaching USA Gymnastics for both Xcel and Development Programs
Flexible hours and team environment
Leadership development and paid training
