Summary:
The Analyst is a foundational member of the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team, an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to build a strong foundation in investment banking and capital markets. The Analyst will support the origination and execution of equity and equity-linked transactions. This role offers exposure to a wide range of industries and transaction types, and involves close collaboration with senior ECM professionals, industry coverage teams, and product partners. The Analyst will be responsible for preparing client materials, conducting financial analysis, and supporting all phases of deal execution. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset, with opportunities to contribute meaningfully to client engagements and strategic initiatives.
Duties And Responsibilities
Assist in the execution of equity and equity-linked transactions from initial pitch through closing.
Prepare pitch books, offering memorandums, investor presentations, and internal approval documents.
Support pricing strategy, syndication planning, and coordination with Sales & Trading, Research, Legal, and Compliance teams.
Conduct market research, valuation analysis, and peer benchmarking.
Track equity market trends, investor sentiment, and comparable transactions.
Maintain and update transaction comparables and market data.
Support senior bankers in client meetings and investor presentations.
Collaborate with industry coverage, M&A, and Debt Capital Markets teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Assist in maintaining CRM systems and databases to track deal pipelines and client interactions.
Ensure accuracy and consistency in all client-facing materials.
Contribute to internal reporting and performance tracking initiatives.
Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
FINRA Series 79, 63 (or equivalent), or willingness to obtain shortly after hire
Located in or willing to relocate to Columbus, OH or Charlotte, NC
Preferred Qualifications
1 years’ experience in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Corporate Finance
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across teams
Intellectual curiosity and a proactive mindset
Commitment to professional integrity and continuous development
Ability to embrace change and contribute to a collaborative team environment
