
Branch Customer Relations Manager

Gail Borden Public Library is seeking a dynamic, creative, and experienced leader to join our collaborative Branch Library Services team. In this role, you will guide and inspire our Branch Customer Relations team at the South Elgin Branch, delivering exceptional service and community impact every day. The ideal candidate is a dependable, driven, and enthusiastic team member who creates a welcoming, at-home experience for every customer and confidently serves as an exemplary Person-in-Charge when called upon.
In this role you will:
Manage the Branch Customer Relations staff, including hiring and training.
Create and implement procedures and workflows ensuring consistency between the branches.
Oversee the Customer Relations areas of the branches, ensuring a safe, inviting environment.
Model exceptional customer service behavior, encourage the team to complete daily tasks, and ensure staffing levels.
Serve as the Person-in-Charge as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum 3 years of increasingly responsible experience in a public library position, including supervisory experience.
Knowledge and experience with basic computer and mobile devices.
Bilingual English/Spanish language skills a plus.
Must have reliable transportation to be able to drive between the South Elgin and Rakow Branches.

The Gail Borden Public Library 270 N Grove Ave. Elgin , IL 60120
Full-time (37.5 hours/week), exempt position. Schedule may include weekday, evening, and weekend hours split between both branch locations.
$60,002 - $63,000 + Excellent Benefits.** The salary offered is based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, applicable skills and expertise, and internal equity.
