Overview
Our client in the non profit industry is seeking an Event’s Director to join their team! The Events Director is responsible for planning, executing, and growing a portfolio of fundraising and community events. This role serves as the operational lead for signature events, planning committee management, and event logistics, working closely with the Executive Director to meet revenue goals and deliver exceptional donor and volunteer experiences. This is a highly visible role ideal for a detail-oriented, relationship-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced, mission-based environments.
- Status: Full-Time (flexible for evenings/weekends around events)
- Location: Hybrid / Syosset, NY (must live in or commutable to Long Island)
- Salary: 80k – 120k
Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Execution
- Lead planning and execution of all company events, including:
- Annual Golf and Tennis Classic
- Women’s Luncheon
- Community fundraising events and donor engagements
- Develop and manage detailed event timelines, run-of-show documents, and budgets
- Coordinate venues, vendors, AV, decor, signage, and journals
- Oversee event-day logistics, volunteer coordination, and on-site execution
- Committee & Volunteer Management
- Serve as primary staff liaison to event committees and volunteer leaders
- Schedule and manage event committee meetings and follow-ups
- Track committee commitments, outreach goals, and assignments
- Prepare agendas, materials, and action-item summaries
- Sponsorship & Fundraising Support
- Support Executive Director in sponsorship fulfillment and stewardship
- Track sponsor benefits, deliverables, and recognition
- Assist committee with auction and raffle efforts
- Coordinate post-event follow-up and reporting
- Systems & Reporting
- Maintain event data and tracking in CRM and project management tools
- Create event templates and task lists to be reused annually
- Assist with event-related donor communications and acknowledgments
- Evaluate events post-execution and recommend improvements
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of event planning or nonprofit fundraising experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with volunteers, board members, and sponsors
- Proficiency with CRM systems and project management tools
- Willingness to work evenings/weekends as required
Preferred
- Experience with nonprofit fundraising events
- Familiarity with Givebutter, Bloomerang, Asana, or similar platforms
- Passion for children’s health, mental health, or community impact
