Marathon Electric has an excellent opportunity for a Key Account Manager - Generators. Candidate will be responsible for identifying and negotiating new business, enhancing profitable sales growth for Marathon within the Key Account(s) using sales skills, business acumen, power generation industry and product knowledge.
Responsibilities
Responsible for oversight of complete sales process and account management responsibilities, engaging proactively with customer service, application engineering and product management, ensuring overall customer satisfaction.
Responsible for executing a sales growth plan within the region contributing to R2 for sales growth and ROIC.
Understanding of the importance of long‑term relationships, proven communicator with all levels of management
Experience and proven success in evaluating and navigating through complex commercial business situations.
Able to identify business opportunities and bring short- and long‑term projects to completion.
Understands influence & decision‑making process with large Key Account(s).
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities
Lead successful customer contract negotiations and fulfillment of these agreement expectations
Presentation of proposals and quote to customers and ensure adherence to the pricing strategy as outlined by the Generator Business Unit
Participate in product and process training and Generator Business Unit strategy/planning sessions as necessary
Works with the Business Unit Leadership & Engineering Management to evaluate / execute strategies for Industry or brand promotion
Must reside in territory. Ability and willingness to travel >50%
This position reports to the Director of Sales - Generators
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of relevant experience, 3+ years industry sales experience
Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
High level of personal initiative and ownership of results
Strong computer skills – Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams)
Able to work in a collaborative team environment.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in power generation field with understanding and knowledge of gen‑set manufacturing market
Technical sales experience with OEMs, proposing appropriate value‑based product solutions.
Technical understanding of electrical fundamentals, alternators/ generators or gen‑set components and related gen‑set applications
Demonstrable track record of strong commercial leadership and achievement of sales goals
Experience with CRM and forecasting tools
